Vuelta Castilla y León: Mihkel Raim, el más rápido en Palencia

El estonio Mihkel Raim (Israel CA) ha logrado la segunda etapa de esta Vuelta a Castilla y León, con final en la ciudad de Palencia y que por segundo día consecutivo se ha resuelto al sprint.

Con un día mucho más tranquilo que el anterior, con el viento como gran ausente y bajo un cielo gris, se ha consolidado pronto una escapada numerosa con nombres de cierta importancia como Fabio Duarte (Manzana Postobon) o Robinson Chalapud (Medellín), además del líder de la montaña Dani Whitehouse (Interpro Stradalli) y presencia española de la mano de Marc Buades (Euskadi), Ángel Madrazo (Delko Marseille), Marcos Jurado (Efapel) -nuevo líder de las metas volantes- y el luso Joaquim Silva del Caja Rural-Seguros RGA. El grupo lo completaba Williams (Israel CA).

También estaba Delio Fernández ,que repetía fuga de ayer, pero una caída le ha obligado a bajarse de la bici. Tampoco han llegado a tener mucho más de cuatro minutos sobre un pelotón controlado por Euskadi-Murias y Movistar Team nuevamente, con lo que el sprint era lo más lógico y probable en las calles palentinas.

Finalmente la aventura, ya sin Buades que se cortó el primero, se ha finiquitado con más de 10 kilómetros hasta meta. Momento pues de enfilar el paquete en busca de la llegada masiva, donde Raim ha sido el más veloz por delante, una vez más, de Aberasturi. Carlos Barbero, octavo en meta, se mantiene como líder.

Este domingo tendrá lugar la última y definitiva etapa de la carrera entre Segovia y Ávila, con cuatro puertos puntuables, el Alto de Navalmoral (2ª) cerca ya de meta y el clásico repecho amurallado en la ciudad de Santa Teresa, donde se decidirá el vencedor de la ronda castellanoleonesa.
