Mundial Yorkshire: Bjerg, oro sub23 en condiciones dantescas

Mikkel Bjerg (1998, Dinamarca) ha conseguido su tercer arcoíris contrarreloj sub23, en un recorrido inundado de 30,3 kilómetros entre Ripon y Harrogate. Los estadounidenses Ian Garrison y Brandon McNulty le acompañan en el podio.

Las condiciones meteorológicas marcaron el desarrollo de la prueba contra el crono. La intensa lluvia encharcó muchas zonas del asfalto británico, aunque la UCI decidió no ejecutar su Protocolo de Tiempo Extremo.

El estadounidense Ian Garrison marcó el primer tiempo de referencia (40´46″). Pero, a pesar del empeoramiento de las condiciones del circuito, el danés Mikkel Bjerg repitió sus oros de Bergen e Innsbruck, batiendo a Garrison por 26 segundos.

Íñigo Elosegui, que correrá en Movistar los próximos tres años, completó una gran carrera, terminando decimoséptimo la contrarreloj ante rivales mucho más especialistas en la disciplina.
