GP Stad Zottegem: Baugnies se impone a Aimé De Gendt

El verano del Wanty-Groupe Gobert está siendo bastante provechoso, y para seguir la racha Jerome Baugnies ha conseguido la victoria en el GP Stad Zottegem.

Ver en pleno agosto una clásica que tiene el desarrollo propio de una clásica no deja de ser un tanto extraño. Pero visualmente muy efectivo. Especialmente con los múltiples ataques del danés Lasse Norman Hansen, del Aqua Blue, que ha desmembrado por completo el ya escueto grupo que se había formado a 30 kilómetros de la llegada.

Después de intentarlo varias veces y ser alcanzado, en la última ha podido irse solo, pero se le han juntado Baugnies (Wanty-Groupe Gobert) y el joven Aimé De Gendt (Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise), jugándose la carrera finalmente entre los tres.

En el repecho final, Hansen ha pagado el esfuerzo y el duelo se ha reducido a dos: lucha de belgas con victoria final para el corredor del Wanty.
