Gent-Wevelgem: Wout van Aert se exhibe y gana (Vídeo)

Wout van Aert (1994, Team Jumbo-Visma) ha ganado la clásica Gent-Wevelgem in Flanders Fields ME (1.UWT, Bélgica), de 254 kilómetros entre Ypres y Wevelgem.

El ciclista belga ha sido el más rápido de un grupo selecto de siete ciclistas que se ha jugado la victoria; Nizzolo (Team Qhubeka-Assos) era segundo y Matteo Trentin (UAE), tercero, con Colbrelli, Matthews, Küng y Van Hooyndock, compañero de Van Aert, a continuación.

Van Aert continúa por tanto con su extraordinaria temporada, cuarto en su debut en la Strade Bianche, ganador de dos etapas y segundo en la Tirreno-Adriático, tercero en la Milán-San Remo y 11º en el E3 Saxo Bank Classic.

Mads Pedersen (2020), Alexander Kristoff (2019), Peter Sagan (2018 y 2016) y Greg van Avermaet (2017) fueron los vencedores anteriores.

Las dos próximas clásicas del WorldTour son Dwars door Vlaanderen, el 31 de marzo, y el Tour de Flandes, el 4 de abril. Los equipos Trek-Segafredo y Bora-hansgrohe no han tomado la salida por varios casos de coronavirus; los alemanes por decisión de la organización.
