Gari Bravo, Top10 de calidad en Francia

Gari Bravo (Euskadi-Murias) ha alcanzado un notable noveno puesto en la Classic de l’Ardèche (1.1, Francia), de 200,2 kilómetros y 11 cotas con salida y llegada en Guilherand-Grange, en la región de Ródano-Alpes.

El ciclista guipuzcoano ha entrado en el grupo de los mejores y ha esprintado por el segundo puesto. El vencedor ha sido Lilian Calmejane (TDE). El corredor francés ha atacado a falta de dos kilómetros y ha entrado ligeramente destacado; Romain Bardet ha sido 4º, Alexis Vuillermoz, 7º; Ben Hermans, 11º; Thibaut Pinot, 12º; o Giovanni Visconti, 14º. Bravo ha exhibido por tanto su buen momento tras la Vuelta a Andalucía.

Jon Odriozola, mánager deportivo: «Gari ha estado cerca de los mejores en una carrera de prestigio y exigente, con los mejores ciclistas franceses, como Bardet o Pinot. Seguimos en la buena línea y apuntamos a los grandes objetivos que vienen, la Volta a Catalunya y sobre todo la Itzulia, y otras clásicas de casa como Estella y Amorebieta».

La carrera no ha sido fácil para el conjunto vasco, dirigido por David Echávarri en tierras francesas. Sergio Rodríguez y Gotzon Udondo se veían involucrados en una caída al comienzo, con fuertes golpes en la cadera y el glúteo, respectivamente. Julen Irizar abandonaba indispuesto y Cyril Barthe tenía que cambiar de bicicleta.

Los mismos siete ciclistas, Ander Barrenetxea, Cyril Barthe, Mikel Bizkarra, Gari Bravo, Julen Irizar, Sergio Rodríguez y Gotzon Udondo, disputarán el domingo la Drome Classic (1.1), 214,8 kilómetros con 15 ascensiones.
