Challenge Mallorca: Moschetti repite en Palma

Matteo Moschetti (1996, Trek – Segafredo) se ha llevado el Trofeo Playa de Palma – Palma (1.1), de 159,6 kilómetros antes de su tradicional final al sprint en el paseo marítimo. Así, se termina la Challenge de Mallorca, que ha abierto la temporada europea.

Para intentar evitar la volata, saltaron del pelotón en los primeros kilómetros Brian van Goethem (Lotto Soudal), Álvaro Cuadros (Caja Rural – RGA) y el local Lluis Mas (Movistar Team), pero Bora-hansgrohe y Trek Segafredo controlaron a su antojo la diferencia.

Incluso en la bajada del Coll sa Creu, coronado a 35 kilómetros de meta, se permitieron crear un corte con Jempy Drucker (Bora-hansgrohe) y Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo) para liberarse de la responsabilidad de tirar en el pelotón, que recayó en el Israel Start up Nation.

Una vez cazadas todas las intentonas, en el sprint final se impuso el italiano Matteo Moschetti respondiendo al trabajo de su equipo. El alemán Pascal Ackermann (Bora-hansgrohe) y el italiano Andrea Pasqualon (Circus – Wanty Gobert) completó el podio. Entre los españoles, Juanjo Lobato (Fundación Orbea), séptimo, y Jon Aberasturi (Caja Rural – RGA), octavo, fueron los dos que consiguieron filtrarse en el top10.

El mismo Matteo Moschetti (Trek Segafredo), Emanuel Buchmann (Bora-hansgrohe) y Marc Soler (Movistar Team) fueron los ganadores de los otros tres trofeos de esta Challenge de Mallorca.
