Tour Porvenir: Covi se impone en el último día llano

El italiano Alessandro Covi ha ganado la sexta etapa, última para sprinters, del Tour del Porvenir tras rematar una fuga de ocho ciclistas, aunque con el pelotón pisándole los talones.

Como casi todos los días planos de este Tour del Porvenir, lo que parecía una etapa más o menos tranquila y bajo control se ha convertido en un caos al producirse una caída masiva, en la que entre otros se ha visto afectado el ruandés Joseph Areruya.

Por lo demás, los escapados con mayoría danesa -Gregaard, Bjerg y Bak Laris- y acompañados por Guglielmi (Francia), Feele y Downey (Irlanda), Covi (Italia) y Mostov (EEUU), han visto como el pelotón se acercaba por detrás mientras ellos trataban desesperadamente de alcanzar la meta. Sin embargo han mantenido un vibrante pulso y han logrado llegar.

Los daneses, como era de esperar, han llevado el peso tanto de la aproximación como del sprint, pero Covi ha sido más rápido y ha logrado alzarse con la etapa.
