Tercera etapa en el Tour de Qinghai Lake, y tercer sprint consecutivo. En esta ocasión con victoria para otro de los profesionales continentales europeso desplegados en territorio chino. El rumano Eduard Grosu se ha adjudicado la etapa en una llegada masiva muy apretada.
Grosu ha logrado ser más rápido que Luca Pacioni (Wilier Triestina-Selle Italia) en la línea de meta, con el gaditano Juanjo Lobato en la cuarta posición. Para el ciclista de Trebujena es el mejor puesto de toda la temporada, en su preparación para las carreras del otoño italiano donde tiene puestas sus miras.
También se ha producido un cambio en la cabeza de la general. Brenton Jones y Bouglas han llegado a más de 17 minutos, por lo que Grosu se pone también al frente. Hasta el momento, ningún ciclista ha durado más de un día como líder.
