Wout Van Aert sigue maravillando donde va. El belga se ha impuesto en la segunda etapa del Tour de Dinamarca, en Velje, tras un tremendo ataque.
El circuito final en Velje, con una cota de carretera estrecha y por terreno incómodo, ha menguado mucho al pelotón y permitido varios ataques de corredores que buscaban sorprender desde lejos. Uno de ellos, ya cazada la fuga del día, ha sido el local Guldhammer (Team Waoo). Después se le ha unido el transalpino Paolo Simion (Bardiani-CSF).
Pero Guldhammer estaba dispuesto a entregar cara su derrota. A falta de 12 para meta ha soltado al italiano, aunque dentro ya de las dos vueltas finales ha tenido que ceder ante la cercanía del grupo del líder. Nada más cazarlo, Julius Johansen (Coloquick) y Robin Carpenter (Rally Cycling) han tratado de tomar la alternativa, buscando de nuevo una sorpresa que cada vez gozaba de menos margen.
Sin embargo, esta vez el gran grupo no ha podido contrarrestar del todo el empuje con el que han salido. Lorenzo Rota (Bardiani) ha intentado salir desde atrás, pero se ha quedado a medio camino. Ya en el último paso, Van Aert ha cogido la rueda buena de Kamp, lo ha adelantado y se ha lanzado hasta meta.
