Vuelta a Andalucía: Modolo gana, esta vez sí, en Herrera (vídeo)

Era el gran favorito y esta vez ha podido cumplir con esa condición. Sacha Modolo (EF Education First) ha ganado al sprint la tercera etapa de la Vuelta a Andalucía en la localidad sevillana de Herrera, haciendo gala a su cartel de hombre más rápido entre los que estaban presentes en la ronda andaluza.

De paso, Modolo se desquita del sinsabor del primer día en Granada, en que llegó incluso a levantarse de la bici, sin convicción, en una etapa que al final acabó perdiendo por poco. El sprint ha sido un tanto caótico por una caída en la última curva, a unos 400 metros de meta. Carlos Barbero ha tirado al palo, teniéndose que conformar con el segundo lugar.

Como se esperaba, no ha sido un día complicado para los favoritos y hombres de la general. La etapa era prácticamente llana. Sólo el portugués Amaro Antunes (CCC Sprandi) se ha visto especialmente perjudicado por una caída en los primeros kilómetros. Wout Poels (Sky) sigue líder de la ronda andaluza.

Uno de los grandes protagonistas de la carrera ha sido Álvaro Cuadros que ha cogido su segunda fuga consecutiva. El joven granadino es el nuevo líder de las metas volantes. También Héctor Sáez (Euskadi-Murias) ha sido parte de la aventura de cuatro ciclistas que se ha destacado.

La cuarta etapa vuelve a ser para los hombres de la general. Otra jornada larga y con dos caras bien diferenciadas entre Sevilla y Alcalá de los Gazules. La primera mitad de la prueba será completamente llana desde que se salga en la capital hispalense hasta la entrada en las estribaciones de la Sierra de Grazalema. A partir de ahí, el Puerto de las Palomas romperá la carrera.
